That sounds like a screaming deal. Hopefully by this writing you have snapped that thing up. The Lee progressive kits are nothing fancy but have recieved BUYworthy ratings from Gun tests Magazine in the past. Lee is not the foremost name in reloading quality, rather the foremost name in ECONOMY reloading. Their equipment ain't fancy, but it'll do for a beginner. I wouldn't take one to camp perry, but you should get at least 10,000 rounds outta the thing before the press gets sloppy. It is true though that a single stage press is far better to learn to reload with because you learn each phase of the process intimately, and while you are learning, you are forced to handle each and every piece of brass 3 times---increasing the chances of your amateur eyes catching a piece of split brass or badly seated primer.

Finally, I can tell the truth: It was a ripoff. As a glock owner I have to say that until my GF won one at the Friends of NRA dinner the XD was just a lowly ripoff of the Glock. Now that there's one in the family, it is clearly a fine piece of engineering, a marvel that in all respects is nearly equal or possibly even equal to Gastons excellent design. Here is a place to start to see what others are asking for similar firearms. the first is a mossberg 500C 20 Ga In decent condition http://www.auctionarms.com/search/displayitem.cfm?itemnum=7840620 The second is a Stevens 77C 12 Ga Pump Not in very good condition. The Stevens 77C generally sells for $75-$150 depending on condition.

Hi Jeremiah, That sounds like a great deal. You might need some other things you did not list like a powder scale and tumbler (w/media). I usaully recommend a single stage press when new to reloading but I think you can use that press model as one (single stage) If you find out reloading is something you're really going to get into, you might want to get another single stage press for 2nd operations like decapping (if you decap before tumbling), primer pocket swaging and case forming. I know little to nothing about either one of these .22 pistols. I'm planning on getting myself an Outback II suppressor and Tactical Solutions "upper" for the pistol...I just need to determine which platform to base my "hushpuppy" off of.

What are the pros and cons of each Ruger mark ii?

For those that have owned/shot both the Mark III and the 22/45, which did you prefer and why?

I just need a push in the right direction.

Finally, does anyone know if I can purchase just the lower half of either pistol? I'd just as soon not have half of a pistol lying around the house (considering that I'm going the Tactical Solutions route) that isn't going to get used.

I owned a PO PXT SSP.

I put 5 or 600 rounds down the pipe. The SA trigger was alright, but a little mushy with a bit of overtravel.

Reasonably accurate with no malfunctions (considering all their models use a ramped barrel, I expected Para Ordnance).

Here's where Para Ordnance and I part ways...

Upon field stripping the pistol, I noticed "pockmarks" on the interior of the slide. Not just one or two and they weren't isolated. The entire underside of the slide had these casting voids that varied in size.

I knew the pistol utilized a cast frame and sldie when I bought it. After my discovery, I detail stripped the frame and found evidence of the same (so it wasn't an issue with only the slide mold) although to a lesser degree.

It will still be between the two teams who are always at the top (Kyle Harrison ) However, in my opinion these two teams will be neck and neck this year as Gettysburg lost a ton to graduation, and Wac is still trying to find an offensive identity, while losing one of the best goalies in the country and thier best pole. In my opinion neither of these teams will be top tier this year, G-Burg had their shot last year, and WAC just seems to have been fading into mediocrity since the 2004 season.

Thanks and it's called the follower. I figured that I could cut the mag catch hole with my Dremel and I could probably sand down the follower as well to prevent it from breaking.

The shell-pivot thingy is attached to the pistol frame. I don't know the name of it... It helps the empty shells extract.

Ruger hand gun

I just picked up a Ruger P95 for $200. It came with the neutered 10 rd mags but was in the box and looks like it's had less than a box of shells fired through it.
I've never owned a P95 before but have had two ruger single six (which I liked but traded off). I still have some of the P89 15 rd mags and they fit well in the P95.
It's been a while since I've dealt with Ruger semiautos and it may be a week or so before I shoot it.
Is the P95 as good, better, or worse than the P89s?

Colt Defender

Here's the story:

Picked up a new Colt Defender two weeks ago. Went to the range, had some extraction problems; fairly random, but every 15 rounds, or so, the extractor would jump the rim and fail to extract. Get it home, check the extractor tension...is very weak. Well, no big deal, was going to have a local smith do a trigger job, so I figure Ill have him tune the extractor while it's there.

I have two brand new sets of Colt original equipment grip panels with Colt gold medallion for a Colt Government model. They have been sitting in storage for the 380 colt mustang. $25 shipped for each pair, buy both sets for $45 shipped.

So, pick the pistol up today (great trigger job BTW) and head straight to the range. Same crap. Head straight back to the smith, he adjusts the tension again. Get home, strip the pistol and check the tension with the extractor in the pistol (using the loaded round/shake the slide method). The extractor barely grips WWB cases, and Corbon and Speer brass falls right out. Scratch my head.

At this point I pull out two other 1911s that I know have perfect extractors (est. 8000 rounds through both with no extraction issues); both Kimbers. I remove the extractors from both pistols, and check the Colt 25 extractor in both. Tension is perfect in both Kimbers. So, I then try both of the Kimber extractors in the Colt...same problem, no tension on the case. At this point I'm getting what the problem is. Nevertheless, just to be sure, I grab a spare extractor to play around with. No matter how much bend I put in the Colt 1903, it still will not grip the case any harder; I had that extractor bent pretty much sideways and it made no ruger p 85 other than barely being able to push it in the channel.

Visually it appears the Colt extractor channel was cut too far to the side of the slide for the extractor to be tensioned, regardless of how much it is bent. Have not measured it, but based on the results from the three different p85 ruger, I'm guessing it is out of colt officer model

Agree? If not, what is your theory?
